Cairo - The Muslim Brotherhood, Egypt's largest opposition, said Thursday they had few reservations about the newly appointed Prime Minister Essam Sharaf, adding that he has a "good reputation."
Sharaf, an engineering university professor, had served previously as a minister of transport under former president Hosny Mubarak, but resigned from the ministry.
"He left the ministry, and anyone who leaves the ministry in our climate of corruption means he either wasn't happy with the corruption or wasn't practicing it so those in charge weren't happy with him," Deputy General-Secretary of the Muslim Brotherhood Rashad Bayoumi told the German Press Agency dpa.
But Bayoumi said the group is waiting to see how Sharaf will perform and respond to the demands of the people.
