BETHLEHEM (Ma'an) -- Palestinian Authority security forces released an Islamic Jihad member Thursday after his family pledged bail, the Islamist faction said.
Samer Jaber's family hired a lawyer after he was detained by PA preventative security, Islamic Jihad said in a statement.
The lawyer submitted a request for Jaber's release to a court in the West Bank city of Jenin, where he was being held.
The court agreed to release the Jihad affiliate after his family signed a pledge to pay 5,000 Jordanian Dinars [around $7,000] if he absconded, the Islamist movement said.
