Somalia: Hundreds Against Planned Killings, Explosions Demonstrate in Bosaso Town

Somalia — BOSASO (Sh. M. Network) - Hundreds of people against the planned killings and explosions in Puntland demonstrate largely in Bosaso town in Bari region, witnesses told Shabelle radio on Tuesday.

Reports say that hundreds of people carrying large boards written by slogans against the people from south of the country and those who were not born for the region came out of the town shooting through the high ways of the town.

The faces of the people who were making the demonstrations could be seen how they were very sorry for the insecurity situation in the region saying that the blasts, murdering and violence were all behind by what they called people from the south of the country.

The movement of the traffic and people were halted during the riot which compelled all the business owners to close their centers due to the violence of the demonstrators who were demanding to stop the insecurity actions against the people of the semi-autonomous region of Puntland.

"It was very, very large demonstration. Those who were demonstrating attacked and threw stones to the business centers of the Somali people from south of the country. They were saying the southerners were the mastermind of the blasts," eyewitnesses said.

The riot comes as land mine explosion targeted to a vehicle belonged by the soldiers of Puntland killing four, wounding 9 others most of them troops in the center of the town.
