Iran's Ahmadinejad promises Hamas continued support against Israel

Sun, 13 Dec 2009

Tehran - Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad on Sunday promised the Palestinian militant group Hamas continued support in their fight against Israel, state television reported. In a meeting with visiting Hamas politburo head Khaled Meshaal, Ahmadinejad said that Iran would constantly stand besides the Palestinian nation until what he called "imminent collapse of the Zionist regime (Israel)."

Iranian TV quoted Meshaal as saying that Hamas would continue its fight against Israel and its supporters "until final victory."

Ahmadinejad has several times stressed that, as Israel was on the verge of elimination, Palestinians should stay vigilant and prepared for the liberation of holy Quds (Jerusalem).

Iran does not acknowledge the sovereignty of Israel and supports the Hamas movement. It has, however, stressed repeatedly that its support for Hamas is of a spiritual, and not material, nature.

  1. The fact that Iran does not acknowledge the sovereignty of Israel and upports Hamas says that Iran acknowlwdge internetional agreement and openly supports terrorism.

  2. In many things which are political, Iran takes positions which are ethical and moral. Its position with the issue of its development of nuclear energy is just one of the issues. The issues involving Palestine and Hamas are other examples.
Iran has every right to develop nuclear energy technology. The U.S. and its allies are bullying Iran on this issue while ignoring The Israeli State's development of nuclear technology -which is extremely hypocritical... to say the least.
The issue of the right for The Israeli State to exist is highly controversial. It was created by colonialists and is being supported by neo-colonialists. It is a terrorist state that has always been perpetrating atrocities of: murder, land theft, and out right acts of state terrorism against civilians for more than sixty years.
