GAZA CITY (Ma'an) -- In an effort to improve services and lobbying for a better humanitarian situation in Gaza, a delegation from the Organization of the Islamic Conference will visit the coastal enclave for an extensive tour of existing infrastructure.
The delegation, headed by Humanitarian Affairs Department officer Fuad Al-Mazna’i, will arrive Sunday in Gaza and stay for four days.
Officials said the delegation includes doctors and specialists, who will carry out consultations and some surgeries while they are in the area, and assist aid workers in assessing the health situation with particular attention given to hospital facilities.
A representative of the organization said the visit came as part of the ongoing efforts of the OIC to rehabilitate the Palestinian community.
