Peoples League pays tributes to martyred S Hameed

Srinagar, April 17 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the Jammu and Kashmir Peoples League has paid rich tributes to the renowned Kashmiri liberation leader, S Hameed Wani on the eve of his 12th martyrdom anniversary.

The acting Chairman of Peoples League, Mukhtar Ahmed Waza, addressing a seminar at the party headquarter in Srinagar said that the mission of Kashmiri martyrs would be accomplished at all costs. He maintained that thousands of Kashmiris had given matchless sacrifices to secure their right to self-determination. He added that Kashmiris were determined to continue the ongoing struggle till its logical end.

Other speakers including Mohammad Maqbool Sofi, Ghulam Qadir Rah, Imtiyaz Ahmad Reshi, Ghulam Nabi Waseem, Nazir Ahmad Khan and Ghulam Ahmad Mir urged India to adopt a realistic approach for resolving the Kashmir dispute as per Kashmiris’ aspirations.

S Hamid Wani was arrested by the Indian police and killed in custody on April 18, 1998 at Soura in Srinagar.
