Iran will open handicrafts sale outlets at 107 of the country's cultural and historical sites, a Cultural Heritage official has announced.
Ahmad Balan, the director of commercial affairs at Iran's Cultural Heritage, Handicrafts and Tourism Organization (ICHHTO) has announced that the handicrafts markets will resemble the nature of their host buildings.
The official said that ICHHTO's Handicrafts Department has been working with the Department of Registration, Conservation and Restoration of Historical Relics to nominate the short listed venues from an original inventory of 400 ancient buildings.
He added that the selected sites were not in need of restoration and were located in 13 provinces across the country.
He did not elaborate on the exact time for the imminent opening of the markets.
