Norway's prime minister is using his new Apple iPad to govern his country remotely from the United States as flights are banned across the European continent.
After a volcanic ash cloud grounded trans-Atlantic and European domestic flights for the fourth day, Norwegian officials posted on the Internet a photograph of their Prime Minister Jens Stoltenberg using his iPad.
In an interview with CNN, Stoltenberg said "We have the Internet, the mobile phone. I also use an iPad, which is excellent."
Stoltenberg, whose flight was grounded Wednesday in New York, has, like many other travelers grounded by the volcanic ash cloud, sought alternative routes home.
Euro control, which co-ordinates air traffic control in 38 nations, said that some 17,000 flights were canceled across Europe on Saturday, from a total of 22,000 on a normal day.
It is considered the worst air travel chaos since the Sept. 11 attacks.
