Tehran - Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad called on his US counterpart Barack Obama Tuesday to improve ties with Iran.
"Acknowledging Iran (by Obama) would benefit both sides and as far as Iran is concerned, we are not after any confrontation (with the US)," Ahmadinejad said in a live interview with state television.
Ahmadinejad said that improving ties with Iran could be the only political move by Obama to realize his pre-election slogan of "change."
"Improving ties with Iran would also be the only chance for Obama to stay in power," Ahmadinejad said, hinting at Iran's cooperation with the US to settle the dilemma in Iraq and Afghanistan if US- Iranian ties were improved.
