The banned Tehrik-e-Taliban's Swat chief Maulana Fazlullah has been injured and surrounded by security forces, a Pakistani official says.
Bashir Ahmed Bilour, a provincial minister of North West Frontier Province, said that TTP leadership has either been arrested or killed, a Press TV correspondent reported late Wednesday.
The report claims that that the spokesperson to TTP Swat Muslim Khan and commander Mehmud are also in the custody of security forces, adding that the foreign elements help local terrorists carry out attacks.
Earlier in August, Pakistan's Interior Minister Rehman Milik said that notorious Taliban Swat Chief Fazlullah was injured in an earlier attack and was then cordoned off by security forces in a mountainous valley.
Meanwhile, a close accomplice to Fazlullah and militant commander named Saifullah has been arrested in Koza Bandi, a village a few miles away from Swat.
Saifullah is a close relative of Fazlullah and is alleged to be involved in militant activities in Swat.
He was arrested during a search operation conducted by security forces in the area and has been shifted to an undisclosed place for further investigation, a security official told the media.
