Mauritania wants to produce 240,000 tonnes of grain during the crop year 2010-2011, compared to 190,000 tonnes during the previous harvest, PANA quoted a government statement as saying on Friday (April 9th). In order to achieve this objective, the government will reportedly subsidize fertilizers and herbicides, provide quality seeds and ease credit procedures.
