Annaba police arrested eight Algerian members of a human smuggling ring, Tout sur l'Algerie reported on Thursday (February 18th). The operation followed the arrest on Tuesday of 15 Malian and Senegalese nationals, aged 20-28, who were living in a hotel in the old town of Annaba. The harragas reportedly claimed to have been smuggled from Mali into Algeria and then put in contact with forgers specialized in making false travel documents.
