Algeria has decided to bring back its nationals living in Japan, following the devastating earthquake which hit the country and provoked blasts in nuclear plants, the state-owned radio channel reported Thursday.
The Algerian government has decided to send a special plane to Japan to transport the Algerian nationals back home, as the risks of radiation rise following the explosions of nuclear reactors in Fukushima power plant, the radio channel quoted a statement of the Algerian Ministry of Foreign Affairs as saying.
The statement specified that a follow-up unit established by the foreign ministry after the earthquake in Japan is in charge of the repatriation operation, in coordination with other concerned national institutions.
