Turkish President Abdullah Gul met with Iraqi President Jalal Talabani in Istanbul on Wednesday.
Talabani will attend the 11th Summit of Heads of State and Government of the Economic Cooperation Organization in Istanbul on December 23.
During his stay in Turkey, Talabani will also meet Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
His meetings will focus on economic and political relations between Turkey and Iraq.
Gul's meeting with Talabani lasted around one hour.
