Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu said that there was a big potential between Turkey and the United Arab Emirates for commercial and economic cooperation.

Davutoglu and UEA's Foreign Minister Abdallah bin Zayid Al Nuhayyan held a joint press conference after their meeting in Istanbul on Saturday.

Recalling that Turkey and UAE signed a memorandum of understanding to set up a joint cooperation committee in November, Davutoglu said that this committee would contribute to develop relations in politics, economy, trade, culture, consulate and security areas.

Davutoglu said that trade volume between the two countries reached 3.1 billion USD in the first ten months of 2010.

Guest minister, in his part, said that the aim of his visit was to further develop economic and commercial relations, and exchange views for the steps that would be taken in this regard.

Nuhayyan said that he and Davutoglu agreed to exert more efforts to develop cooperation in economy, trade, renewable energy, banking and tourism.

He added that they also discussed regional matters during their meeting.

Upon questions of reporters regarding Turkey-Israeli relations, Davutoglu said that Turkey wanted to be in peace with all countries including Israel too, and conditions to recover relations with Israel were clear.

Stressing that lifting of blockade on Gaza was very important, Davutoglu said that recovery of economic and social life conditions of Palestinian people was a priority for Turkey.
