Jakarta - An Islamist militant wanted for involvement in terrorist attacks was arrested Friday in Indonesia, said police, who described him as their most-wanted fugitive.
Abu Tholut, also known as Mustofa, was arrested during a raid on a house in the Kudus district of Central Java province, provincial police spokesman Djihartono said.
A handgun and bullets were found in his house, said Djihartono, who like many Indonesians uses only one name.
Police have said Tholut was a senior member of Jemaah Islamiyah, a South-East Asian militant group blamed for a series of attacks in Indonesia from 2000 to 2003.
Police have arrested more than 100 people this year on suspicion of links to a plot to attack foreign and government interests.
