Srinagar, April 04 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, Indian troops and police personnel conducted search operations in Srinagar and subjected the pedestrians to frisking.
At some places, the troopers and police laid barbed wire and placed armored vehicles to conduct the searches while close circuit cameras were closely monitored by the authorities to keep vigil over sensitive spots and movement of the people.
At Ghanta Ghar, the heart of the city, the troops and policemen conducted thorough searches. Besides frisking of vehicles, the police personnel were seen checking identity cards of the people, particularly youth. The vehicles entering Lal Chowk were thoroughly checked by the police and troops at different check posts.
A senior police official talking to media men said that searches and frisking had been intensified in the city.
Meanwhile, the occupation authorities have sounded a red alert along the 190 km railway track from Qazigund to Baramulla following a recent blast at the track near Kakapora in Pulwama.
