A gas explosion early Tuesday morning in an Algiers apartment building killed 5 people and left more than a dozen injured, local press reported on Wednesday (January 20th). Solidarity Minister Djamel Ould Abbes, who visited the scene on Tuesday night, vowed to relocate displaced residents. The building suffered extensive damage in the explosion.
