Bahrainis hold fresh anti-regime rallies

Thousands of Bahraini protesters have once again poured into the streets, calling for the downfall of the Al Khalifa regime, despite heavy military presence in the crisis-ridden country.

The demonstrators spilled into the streets in the villages of Sitra, A'ali, Sanabis and several other locations, according to latest videos posted on the internet.

Saudi-backed troops used force to disperse anti-government demonstrators, who chanted slogans against the regime. The protesters demanded that King Hamad Bin Isa Al Khalifa step down and end his rule of tyranny.

Thousands of anti-government protesters have been waging protest rallies in Bahrain since mid-February, demanding an end to Al Khalifa dynasty, which has ruled the country for over 40 years.

Dozens of people have been killed and hundreds arrested so far in government clampdown on peaceful demonstrations.

According to Bahrain Center for Human Rights, a non-governmental organization, there are currently over 1,000 political detainees inside the country.

Meanwhile, the United Nations Human Rights office has criticized the Bahraini regime for its violations of international law by cracking down on activists and medical staff.
