(Magharebia) Spain on Thursday (January 7th) credited Algeria for its ongoing efforts to help free three Spanish aid workers kidnapped in Mauritania by al-Qaeda, ANSAMed reported. Speaking in Madrid at a joint press conference with his Algerian counterpart, Mourad Medelci, Spanish Foreign Minister Miguel Angel Moratinos ruled out any possibility of paying ransom to the kidnappers. Algerian President Abdelaziz Bouteflika and Spanish Prime Minister Jose Luis Rodriguez Zapatero held bilateral talks and co-chaired their countries' 4th high-level summit.
