The Islamic Action Front (IAF) called on the Jordanian government on Thursday to issue a special pardon for three Jordanians imprisoned on charges of spying for the Islamic Hamas movement.
In a memo sent to Jordanian Prime Minister Nader Dahabi, the IAF, the political arm of the Muslim Brotherhood in Jordan, urged the premier to appeal to King Abdullah II of Jordan to pardon the three prisoners.
"What they did is due to what is happening in the occupied Palestinian territories and it does not harm Jordan's security," the memo said.
In April of this year, the State Security Court (SSC) sentenced the three Jordanians, Thabet Abu Al Hajj, Azzam Helmi and Salim AlHousani, to five years imprisonment for spying for Hamas.
