Senior officials from the Sudanese and Chadian governments have pledged to fully cooperate with each other to forge a lasting peace between the two sides.
In talks in Chad's capital city N'djamena, delegations from the two countries on Sunday agreed to push for the implementation of agreements previously signed.
The neighbors say they will refrain from any action likely to damage relations between the two.
Ties between the two countries have been tense in recent years.
Chad has accused Sudan of supporting rebels seeking to oust the government.
Khartoum in return charges N'djamena with backing fighters in the volatile Darfur region.
