Ukraine's An-225 Mriya aircraft placed in Guinness Book of Records once again

Ukraine's Antonov An-225 Mriya heavy transport aircraft capable of carrying up to 250 tonnes, which is being run by Antonov Airlines, has been once again placed into the Guinness Book of World Records.

As Interfax-Ukraine learned at the press service of Antonov Design Bureau, the aircraft crew has been recently handed a relevant certificate marking the airplane's transporting the heaviest one-piece payload – a generator weighing 174 tonnes, which was carried together with a special frame. The overall weight of the load was 187.6 tonnes.

The cargo was brought from Frankfurt, Germany, to Erevan, Armenia, where it will be mounted and operated at a new power generating plant.
